Het nummer dateert uit 1968, maar werd in 1975 pas een hit in Europa. Na de nummer 1-hit "Stand by your man", waarin het huwelijk bijna heilig werd verklaard, was dit de ultieme tegenhanger met een lied over een scheiding. In 1983 zong Monica West de Nederlandse vertaling van dit nummer getiteld "S.C.H.E.I.D.I.N.G.". Deze Nederlandse versie kwam niet verder dan een Tipparadenotering.

Wist je dat? De B-kant is een cover van: David Houston - Almost Persuaded (1966). Dit nummer was in 1975 terug te vinden in de versie van de Nederlandse countrygroep Sommerset.
