Headlong was de 3de single van het album Innuendo. In Engeland kwam de single tot nummer 14 maar in ons land bleef de single steken in de Tipparade. Iets wat sinds eind 1986 niet meer was voorgekomen. Toen kwam Who Wants To Live Forever ook niet in de Top 40. Dit gebeurde wel in 1992 na het overlijden van zanger Mercury. Ook in de Verenige Staten werd Headlong geen hit.

Wist je dat? In 1990 werd er hard gewerkt aan het album Innuendo. Ook eind van dat jaar werd de video geschoten voor het nummer Headlong. We zien de band aan het werk in de studio en een performance wordt gegeven. In 1991 verscheen Headlong op single met een 14de plaats in Engeland maar in ons land werd de Top 40 niet gehaald en bleef de single in de Tipparade steken, Iets wat vrijwel nooit voorkwam. In de jaren 80 gebeurde dit 2 keer met It's A Hard Life en Who Wants To Live Forever. Die laatste werd in 1992 alsnog een hit. De b-kant All God's People stamt uit 1987 en kwam voort uit de Barcelona sessies die Freddie samen deed met operazangeres Montserrat Caballé. Op de CD single van Headlong stond wel een heel bijzondere bonustrack. Namelijk één van de eerste niet gebruikte albumtracks Mad The Swine uit 1972.
