Taylor Swift heeft woensdagavond maar liefst 7 MTV Video Music Awards in de wacht gesleept, waarvan 5 voor haar hit Fortnight. Taylor Swift heeft hiermee het record gebroken van de act met de meeste MTV Awards.
Taylor Swift heeft nu in totaal 30 MTV Video Music Awards op haar naam en pakt daarmee het record af van Beyoncé. Haar teller staat sinds 2021 op 26 awards. Hierbij zijn de prijzen die ze won als helft van het duo The Carters en als lid van de groep Destiny's Child niet meegeteld. Als we dat wel zouden doen, dan staan Taylor en Beyoncé allebei op een totaal van 30 awards.
Eminem
Taylor Swift is niet de enige artiest die een MTV Awards-record afpakte. Eminem ging met 2 'Moon Men' naar huis en komt daarmee op een totaal van 15 awards. Hij is nu de man met de meeste MTV Awards op zijn naam. Strikte genomen had hij dat record al, maar tot woensdag moest hij dat delen met Peter Gabriel.
