Is de tweede single afkomstig van het album She’s So Unusual. Cyndi Lauper schreef het nummer samen met Rob Hyman. De tekst gaat grotendeels over de gebeurtenissen in de studio. Zo verwijst de regel “The second hand unwins” naar de polshorloge van producent Rick Chertoff waarvan de secondewijzer achteruitliep. Lauper en Hyman bleven na de sessies in de studio om het lied te componeren. De titel is bedacht door Lauper na het zien van een film uit 1979 met dezelfde titel.
Er zijn veel covers van het nummer uitgebracht.
